SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Visit Springfield is excited to welcome Shannon Sherrow as its new Visitor Experience Manager, bringing more than two decades of experience in marketing, communications, hospitality and community engagement to the destination marketing organization.

Sherrow has spent her career championing Springfield and highlighting the people, organizations, history and experiences that make the community unique. Throughout her career, she has helped numerous local nonprofits and community organizations promote their mission and expand their reach.

Most recently, Sherrow served as Marketing Director for Springfield Little Theatre, where she promoted the organization’s productions, programs and impact within the community. She previously worked as a multimedia journalist for KY3, where she created original segments highlighting local nonprofits and the people working to make a difference throughout the Ozarks.

“Shannon’s passion for Springfield, marketing expertise and commitment to the community make her an outstanding addition to our organization,” said Tonia Castaneda, Vice President of Finance & Administration for Visit Springfield. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the team and are confident that our visitor experience and engagement initiatives will strengthen and grow under her leadership.”

In her role with Visit Springfield, Sherrow will lead visitor experience initiatives and oversee the Visit Springfield Airport Visitor Information Center and the Springfield Route 66 Welcome Center in downtown Springfield. She will focus on creating meaningful visitor experiences, strengthening community connections and helping visitors discover what makes Springfield a destination worth experiencing.

“Springfield has been at the heart of my career, and I’ve always believed that one of the best ways to champion our community is by telling its stories,” Sherrow said. “I’m excited to bring my background in storytelling, marketing and hospitality into this role and help create experiences that make visitors feel welcomed, connected and excited about Springfield.”

Sherrow’s experience in marketing, communications and community engagement will support Visit Springfield’s efforts to enhance the visitor experience and showcase the people, places and experiences that make Springfield unique.
